VI, TEMPLE OF BAAL and THE ORDER OF APOLLYON reveal split trailer

French black/death metal artists VI, TEMPLE OF BAAL and THE ORDER OF APOLLYON have revealed an audio trailer for their upcoming 3 way split release on Agonia Records. The trailer is available at this link:

On March 31st, three of the finest French black/death metal acts – VI, TEMPLE OF BAAL and THE ORDER OF APOLLYON – will find their way into the winter-chilled turntabel’s, thanks to a new split release. Divided into three chapters, the recording will feature one brand new song from each of the bands, with a playing time nearing 25 minutes.

BST (Aosoth, ex-Aborted, The Order Of Apollyon and VI) can be thought as a link between all three band’s. Apart from being an active musician, he served as the producer of the upcoming split. With the exception of drums, all instruments were recorded, mixed and mastered at his own BST Studios. Drums were recorded at Hybreed Studios and Studio Vallet, respectively.

Tracklist:
Chapter One: “Trident Of Flesh” (The Order Of Apollyon),
– Caput Secundum: “Non Sum Dignus” (Temple Of Baal),
– Troisème Chapitre: “Aucun d’entre vous ne sera sauvé. Car c’est impossible aux hommes et tout est possible à dieu. Il ne va rien rester de vous, rien de votre nombre, de votre grandeur” (VI).

The split will be available in the following formats:
– regular black LP (with laser etching on side B),
– limited to 200 copies red LP (with similar laser etching),
– limited to 100 copies gold LP (with a patch and similar laser etching).

Pre-orders: https://tinyurl.com/vitobtoo

The new material will see all three bands plunge into their creative potential and will shed some light on what to expect from them in the future. In the words of the band’s themselves:

Being a part of this split along with Temple of Baal and The Order Of Apollyon was an opportunity for us to release a new single track. We thought we were done for a while with creating new music since the release of De Praestigiis Angelorum, but it appeared that we still had more to do. Expect something slightly different from what we’re known for. Expect something unique” (VI).

“Split releases have paved Temple Of Baal’s history through the years as special items in the band’s discography, done with special bands strictly chosen for their common views on Black and Death Metal as sacred works of Left Hand Path dedication. Once more, Temple Of Baal teams up with bearers of the Black Flame to bring a three-fold testimony of Faith” (TEMPLE OF BAAL).

“Joining forces with Agonia for a fresh new start for The Order, we deemed appropriate to release something special. We chose to share this one with artists that we respect not only as musicians, but also as genuinely devoted human beings. The song we wrote for this EP is also meant to give you a taste of what’s to come on our side in the near future” (THE ORDER OF APOLLYON).

REVIEW: Keroscene – Our Time (Single )

REVIEW: Keroscene – Our Time (Single )                                                                                            by Carina Lawrence / Dark Art Conspiracy

ourtime

London psychedelic rock act Keroscene are certainly ones to watch, being so early into their career they have already gained the support and attention from NME, Q magazine and more with their unique sound. Impressively they are yet to even release an EP or album, but have grown in popularity solely through their four singles, ‘Regret’, ‘Just Like Zero’, ‘I Can’t Do A Thing’ and ‘Like The First Time’.
Now they are back to create some more noise with their latest single, ‘Our Time’ which was recorded with Matt Peel, (Pulled Apart By Horses, Eagulls) which may be their best yet, again highlighting their ever expanding genre defining sound. The song itself is a bouncy vibrant track, aided by the guitar effects and synth sounds with complimentary resonant vocals, all wrapped in a fuzzy ambience giving it an upbeat vibe that is irresistible to the ear!
The song was written during the band’s days at their ‘Unit 4’ warehouse in West London, and again as the band have displayed before in previous tracks there is a deep meaning behind the lyrics, this time it focuses on the bands time there and how they developed:  “Lyrically the song is inspired by everything currently happening in the world around us, both on a societal level with rapid changes in technology and politics and on a personal level. This apparent lack of tangibility of anything genuinely real in our digital world can sometimes make us feel bored and at odds with a sense of cultural stagnation”.

Keroscene have already shown through their singles that they are not afraid to experiment and explore their musical depth, it will be exciting to see what they do next!
Score: 4/5

AT THE GATES – Anders Björler quits; Band working on new album!

Having completed an extremely comprehensive worldwide touring campaign in support of their highly acclaimed comeback album “At War With Reality”, Swedish melodic Death Metal pioneers AT THE GATES are ready to break the silence and have checked in with a status update as follows:

“So, it is now official that Anders Björler is no longer a part of At The Gates. He will always be part of the At The Gates family, of course, but he will no longer write, record or play with us live. This is something that we, the rest of the band, have felt was on its way for quite some time, as that special spark was no longer with him the last year. We are grateful for all we have experienced together with him, all the records, all the songs, all the gigs, all the laughs and good times.

The rest of us have in the meantime started the work on the follow up to ‘At War With Reality’, we already have three songs written, and the direction is set for an intense, hungry follow-up album. Jonas has always written a considerable part of the bands’ material and we are fully confident that the new material will live up to the standards set by our previous records. It is ripping. The four of us still have the burning urge to create death metal together, and we love playing live in front of our fans, so we will go on, with an even stronger intent.

While writing the new record, that we intend to record in the beginning of 2018, we are trying out Anders’ replacement. Some auditions are being held as we speak, and we will get back to you with news on the matter as soon as we know more.”

Anders Björler has added the following comment on his departure from the band’s ranks:

“Just a quick note to let everybody know that I am leaving At The Gates permanently. The passion is just gone. There might be a more lengthy statement in the future, but at the moment I feel no need to explain further.

This is a personal decision, and it has 100% to do with the music side of things. The reunion in 2008, and the subsequent tours, as well as the comeback album ’At War With Reality’, really helped revisiting our friendship, and it brought us together in a way I will always remember and cherish.

I would also like to thank all the people that supported us throughout the reunion shows as well as the ’At War With Reality’ album. Thanks a lot!”

Further details and updates on the progress of the next album will be following soon…
