DREAM EVIL – Launch “Creature Of The Night” single; “SIX” album out next week!

Swedish powerhouse Heavy Metal group DREAM EVIL are getting closer to the release of their sixth album, aptly titled “SIX”, coming out next week, more precisely on Friday May 26th, 2017 via Century Media Records.
Therefore, the album’s third single, the melodic and epic “Creature Of The Night” is being launched today and can be checked out here:

DREAM EVIL commented about “Creature Of The Night” as follows: “When we chose from all recorded songs the ones to be released on the main album, we summoned a Heavy Metal Jury which ranked the songs. From this ranking the top 12 songs were set for SIX. The song “Creature Of The Night” got the highest ranking from the H.M.J., so it was a no-brainer to have this song as a single.”

Previously, the album’s opening track “Dream Evil” and the song “Antidote” were debuted with videos by Patric Ullaeus / www.revolver.se (In Flames, Lacuna Coil, Dimmu Borgir, Arch Enemy, etc.) here:

“Antidote”: https://youtu.be/fVcISveC6gI

A brief album trailer for “SIX” can be seen here: https://youtu.be/RtUbeIGeb7g

LACUNA COIL – release video for “You Love Me ‘Cause I Hate You”

After launching a video clip for the song “Blood, Tears, Dust” (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9sVUqOhcPU) LACUNA COIL are revealing the full story of their two conceptual videos with their latest clip for the song “You Love Me ‘Cause I Hate You”. Like “Blood, Tears, Dust” the video was directed and edited by Cosimo Alemà and produced by the production company Borotalco.

Check out “You Love Me ‘Cause I Hate You” under the following link:

Cristina Scabbia (vocals): “The videos we shot with Cosimo Alemà are exactly what we wanted to deliver visually, especially if connected with a record like ’Delirium’. The darkness, the intensity, the script itself are taking the viewer to the dimension we wanted to be transported to. ‘You Love Me ‘Cause I Hate You’ and ‘Blood, Tears, Dust’ are tightened together in a twisted story that I like a lot as there is so much that can be defined with each one’s imagination. Interpreting different characters was also exciting, an interesting challenge I hadn’t faced until then. I hope the viewers can capture the magic we breathed while we shot them.”

Andrea Ferro (vocals): “Every age has its form of storytelling, and video clips have been a huge part of our culture. Talking with Cosimo (Alemà/director) and our label we decided to create something to bring back the artistic quality video clips used to have. We put our love for cinema into our video for the song ‘You Love Me ‘Cause I Hate You’, as you will see there is a clear inspiration from TV series like ‘True Detective’ and also a certain ‘Twin Peaks’/’Resident Evil’ vibe. We wanted the viewers to contemplate the story and question what it really means. There is also a tight connection with the previous video for the song ‘Blood, Tears, Dust’ as both clips should be considered almost as one single piece. The videos clearly explore the main theme of our latest album, ‘Delirium’, and all its madness and symbols. It’s been a really great and challenging experience to be on the set for several days and work in ‘cinema style’ for the very first time to create something completely new for LACUNA COIL.”

Both songs are taken from LACUNA COIL’s latest album: Fresh, dark and extremely powerful are only a few of the best ways to accurately describe “Delirium”, which encompasses the strength and heavy approach of thrash metal from the 90’s twisted with goth elements into a modern style. The band hasn’t finished their extensive touring cycle, so catch LACUNA COIL live at one of the following shows and festivals:

NEXT TO NONE announce second studio album “Phases”

Rising young metallers Next To None have announced the release of their forthcoming second album ‘Phases’ through InsideOutMusic in Europe on the 7th July 2017. This comes off the back of the band’s first ever European tour alongside label-mates Haken, as well as forthcoming dates supporting Mike Portnoy’s much anticipated Shattered Fortress show.

The band comments: “We’re so excited to finally be releasing our new album. We feel it’s a huge step forward for the band and shows a much heavier and much more technical side.

This album is very special to us because it’s the first time we recorded and self-produced our entire album. We were able to create music that it completely our own. Every note, every sound, every word, came from us and we can’t wait for you all to hear it.

Working with Adam Nolly Getgood on the mix has been one of the highlights of this recording for us. He captured the exact sound we wanted right from the start.

Doing this upcoming tour with The Shattered Fortress will be a great opportunity to premiere this new material to an audience that will surely get where we’re coming from”

You can find the full track-listing below and artwork below:

2. Answer Me
3. The Apple
4. Beg
5. Alone
6. Kek
7. Clarity
8. Pause
9. Mr Mime
10. Isolation
11. Denial
12. The Wanderer

The full list of upcoming tour dates alongside Mike Portnoy’s Shattered Fortress are as follows:
28th June – Koko, London, UK
1st July – Trianon, Paris, France
2nd July – Slagthuset, Malmo, Sweden
3rd July – Kulturfabrik, Esch Sur Alzette, Sweden
4th July – Teatro Della Luna, Milan, Italy
5th July – Z7, Pratteln, Switzerland
6th July – 013, Tilburg, Holland
8th September – Prog Power USA, Atlanta GA, USA
10th September – El Plaza Condesa, Mexico City, Mexico
24th September – Irving Plaza, New York City NY, USA

Formed in 2012, and based in Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania, the foursome released their well-received debut ‘A Light In The Dark’ during 2015 on InsideOut. But if this set a template for the band’s style, then this has now been excitingly stretched.

“We actually began to write songs for the new record as soon as we finished the first one,” explains drummer Max Portnoy. As previously, this involved the duo of Portnoy and vocalist/keyboard player Thomas Cuce collaborating in this part of the process. And, also to some extent mirroring ‘A Light In The Dark’, there’s a partial concept here. “On the previous album we had six tracks which were lyrically linked. But it did not stretch throughout all the
songs. This time, we have four tracks which deal with the idea of grief. However, that isn’t reflected on the entire record.”

The new 12-track album (including two short instrumental passages) marks the recording debut of new guitarist Derrick Schneider who replaced Ryland Holland last year, (the line-up is completed by bassist Kris Rank). “Ryland wanted to go to college, and is now going to Berklee College Of Music, whereas the rest of us wanted to be in the band full-time. So, there was no way that he could carry on with us. And we were very lucky to find someone immediately to take over. He was recommended to us by Bumblefoot (the ex-Guns N Roses guitarist who guested on the first record) and he was the only guy we tried out that fit perfectly. Musically and personally he fit straight in with us. One of the things he does so well is shred on guitar but he also has great voice and plays very heavy which has made a difference to our style and sound.”

Although the album was mixed by the Grammy nominated Adam “Nolly” Getgood (Periphery), the band have produced themselves this time, a decision Portnoy insists has been of immeasurable help.  “It’s a collective production, with all of the band having their say. We had strong ideas as to how we wanted this album to turn out, and if we’d brought in an outside producer, then this could have changed. So, it was best for us to stick together and follow our own vision.” The recording process started early last October, with the drum parts being recorded at Neal Morse’s Radiant Studios in Nashville; these sessions were engineered by Jerry Guidroz. “We then spent about four months at Thomas’ home studio (Battery Powered Studios) doing the rest of the work; Thomas was the engineer for those sessions. We were in there every day until 3am. I don’t know how Kris coped, because he was going to school after we’d finished in the studio and getting just a couple of hours’ sleep.

Portnoy believes Next To None have become a sharper and more challenging band with ‘Phases’. “I suppose you could say that we’ve done here is do more of everything we did before, but the greater experience we now have has helped us become better at what we want to do. This time around, there are no guests featured, as was the case on ‘A Light In The Dark’, and as it’s just the four of us you are getting more of what we want to express to everyone, musically and lyrically.”

THE LURKING FEAR – Debut “Winged Death” single; Reveal debut album details

While Swedish Death Metallers THE LURKING FEAR are completing the recordings for their debut album and also performing their debut live-shows this weekend in Sweden, timing is perfect to launch a first digital single and also reveal some details about the upcoming album.

You can also obtain “Winged Death” via other online outlets:
iTunes: http://smarturl.it/WingedDeathITUNES
Spotify: http://smarturl.it/WingedDeathSpotify
Or here: http://smarturl.it/WingedDeathEP

The band has checked in with the following comment about the track:

“So, here is the first full blast of pure death metal filth for you maniacs, taken from the 3-track self-titled debut 7” EP! “Winged Death” is our little death metal epos about hungry Lovecraftian insects devouring you from the inside out. It has all the different elements of The Lurking Fear, the fast, pounding death metal mayhem, the slow, creepy horror/doom parts and howling screams of terror. Straight out of our coffin!”

And the status update on the debut album recordings currently taking place at Welfare Sounds (Bombus, RAM, Bombs Of Hades, etc.) in Gothenburg, Sweden reads as follows:

“We are in the middle of wrapping everything up in the studio and have just started the mixing process for the 11 tracks we recorded. It’s sounding nasty and raw, just the way we want it! The record is called “Out Of The Voiceless Grave” and that title sums up what the album and actually band are all about. Our idea is that you get a glimpse of the horrors spewing out from our metal grave of interstellar death. The album is basically our Vortex spawn, a beast with eleven heads, all ready to devour you! We are very pleased with how it sounds right now, as the guys at Welfare Sounds understood our concept immediately and have managed to capture some pure death metal filth on tape!”

Look out for “Out Of The Voiceless Grave” to be released via Century Media Records worldwide on August 11th, 2017.

On August 25th, 2017, French metal force DAGOBA will release its seventh studio album, “Black Nova”, as a cooperation of Jive/Epic for France and Century Media for the rest of the world.

The equally powerful artwork was created by Seth Siro Anton (Septic Flesh).

The tracklist for “Black Nova” reads as follows:

3. The Legacy Of Ares
