State of Deceit released their debut EP ‘Retribution’

State of Deceit

State of Deceit released their debut EP ‘Retribution’ just before the world stopped with Covid. It combines their love of heavy music, the intense live scene and lyrical issues important to them e.g. mental health, political extremism and abuse. It mixes thrash, groove, metalcore and heavy metal together with a fresh sound recorded at Long Wave Studios with Romesh Dodangoda.  The band have refined their craft on the road playing shows all over Wales and England.

State of Deceit was created from a desire to play heavy music, call out the bullsh*t they see around them and create some body slamming action in the pits. As Musipedia Of Metal commented ‘Although still in their infancy, Retribution is an EP of such massive stature that you could easily be forgiven for thinking that State Of Deceit were entering their second decade as a band.’

SUPRISE YOUR DEAD SUPERSTAR

Dead Superstar is an intense melodic hard rock band founded by vocalist Terence Keith and bassist Troi Mosby (formerly of perseverance) in early 2005. Their passion to perform great music ignited the fire in them to create a powerful sound that would be heavy enough to rock the hardest head banger to the crossover masses. Dead Superstar began writing songs and rehearsing in late 2006, by 2007 they began their craft of flavourful soul rock, packed with grooves yet was heavily melodic. Their music is embedded with controversial lyrics of the human condition. The band recorded their debut album with Joey Z’s (life of agony) studio, Method of Groove, entitled “Tribulations”. The album is packed with 11 pounding anthems, powerful vocals, blistering guitars, thundering bass and grooving beats.

TRACK PREMIERE: Kassad – The Maze

Kassad, a stalwart of the modern post-black metal scene, combines abrasive and gritty black metal with hallucinatory ambience and spiralling post-rock intricacy. Kassad’s name is synonymous with misery, futility, and madness of modern urban life.

Originally recorded in the sessions for 2020’s “London Orbital” and now available for the first time as a single, “The Maze” continues to explore the idea of a malevolent, decaying city. The listener is trapped. There is nowhere to turn. And something is coming towards you through the tunnels of the maze.

“Deliciously cold, delectably dark, divinely twisted, this is an album of bleak blackness that haunts the memory long after it has ended.
-Games, Brrraaains, and a Head-banging Life

“The bleak darkness that radiates from London Orbital is one that fully submerses you. It’s not a happy album, and nor does it need to be. Instead, it fuels a sense of longing and misery that feels unnerving and still somehow, enjoyable. Kassad have found their niche with ‘urban black metal,’ and it offers the listener a glimpse into unflinching sorrow.”
-Dead Rhetoric

“There’s an anguished, hopeless feeling that suffuses this album. The music reeks of despair and urban misery, a gloom that permeates every part of each of the songs.”
-Wonderbox Metal

“London Orbital is fantastic album. It’s enjoyable and immersive, a modern take on Black Metal and has sprung from living in a city.”
-Musipedia of Metal
