Aarrrrrrrr, the one and only heavy metal pirates of ALESTORM are back, and they’ve brought with them their 5th full length album titled ‘No Grave But The Sea‘! Time to put on your eyepatch and let the rum flow freely for the unstoppable international party machine, as ALESTORM have finally announced first and hotly anticipated details on their brand new album!
‘No Grave But The Sea‘ will be released on May 26th 2017 on Napalm Records, now the band fronted by Captain Chris Bowes unveiled their upcoming album cover art as well as track listing.
Captain Christopher Bowes commented on the album:
“Oh wow! It’s a new Alestorm album! I hope all of you fellow humans & dogs like it; we think it’s pretty gosh darn ok! It’s also our first album to feature our grandiose guitarist Máté Bodor who brings his tasty & delicious solos and rifftacular riffing into the mix. This is the place in the press release where we would usually tell you this album is darker and heavier than our previous works, but that’s probably not true. It is, however, full of epic songs about pirates, drinking, and pseudoscientific cryptogeography. I’m sure y’all will enjoy those things just as much as we do.”

Frontman John Kevill comments on the video:
“‘Remain Violent’ is a headbanging stomper of a track anchored around a really killer riff. Probably the most immediate and instantly memorable song off Woe to the Vanquished and sure to become a live favorite. The song deals with the increasingly militaristic behavior of the police in recent times, and the chorus line is a play on ‘You have the right to remain silent.’Crank it up and bang your fucking head! Remain Violent!”

British heavy metal five-piece, Synaptik from Norwich, UK have had a brilliant and busy year already, having signed with DeFox and Heart Of Steel records as well as landing a US deal with Divebomb records and re-releasing a remixed heavier version of their hit debut album, “The Mechanisms of Consequence” on 30th January, and they are set to make an even bigger impact with their sophomore album, “Justify & Reason” which is released today (March 10th).
To promote the release of their anticipated new album they have just dropped an official lyric video for new single, the mighty melodic and extremely technically skilled “The Incredible Machine”, which features guest vocals from Meyrick de la Fuente (Exist Immortal).
Vocalist, John Knight commented on working with Meyrick de la Fuente who also produced the new album at Floodgate Studio. Saying: “(Meyrick’s) Vocals on the chorus brought my original melody line to life, our vocals complimented each other well. It added a further dynamic which creates more melody that helps hammer home what the new album is all about; melody, aggression and emotion. It’s perfect as the opening track and sets the standard for the rest of the album.”
Knight also talked about the lyrical meaning behind the new single, ‘The Incredible Machine’:
“Lyrically the song describes the human brain. The inner workings of the mind to a large extent remain a mystery. It’s extraordinary, our entire experience of life, all our mental experiences; they all result from the activity of chemistry in our brain, the activity of neurotransmitters and neurocircuits, synaptic signals sparking, a hundred billion nerve cells coordinate our physical actions. Quite literally mind blowing.”
Check out the powerful and ambient video below!
New album “Justify & Reason” is described as “A collection exhibiting real finesse, true technicality but not at the expense of neck-snapping riffs and a progressive air that’s both bracing and intimidatingly menacing”.
Synaptik are very experienced and skilled musicians and as a result have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the likes of Iron Maiden, Exodus and Onslaught. They have also recently been added to the immense Mammothfest UK line-up alongside headliners Rotting Christ, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Lawnmower Deth and more. Mammothfest currently looks like this:

Photos (above and below) by Wayne BregullaSwedish classic/progressive rock supergroup THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA – featuring members of metal frontrunners Soilwork and Arch Enemy – have announced the title of their upcoming record. The band’s third studio album will be entitled Amber Galactic and is scheduled to be released on May 19, 2017 via Nuclear Blast.
Guitarist David Andersson adds: “Musicianship in itself is not interesting, neither are the technical aspects of creating music. The ideas and visions behind the music are the only things really worthy of in-depth discussions. We’ve all reached a point where we can all pretty much play and sing whatever we want. We didn’t talk much about chord changes or amplifiers during the recording sessions. But we spent a lot of time discussing Kierkegaard’s concept of anxiety, different vintages of sparkling wine, the psychoacoustic aspects of modulation, the innate superiority of women and why a pearl necklace always look better when whoever wears it has a bored expression on her face.”
When asked about the direction of NFO within the realm of classic rock, Strid explains with a chuckle: “Most other classic rock bands sound like weed or LSD – we sound like cocaine.”
Amber Galactic was recorded at Handsome Hard Studio in Lund, Sweden. The album follows THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA‘s two previous releases, 2012’s Internal Affairs and 2015’s Skyline Whispers.
Stay tuned for more coming soon in the world of THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA!
THE NIGHT FLIGHT ORCHESTRA members:
Björn Strid – vocals
Sharlee D’ Angelo – bass
David Andersson – guitars
Richard Larsson – keyboards
Jonas Källsbäck – drums
Sebastian Forslund – guitars, percussion

MERRIMACK are now revealing the first sinister song taken from their forthcoming fifth full-length, which bears the title ‘Omegaphilia’ and will be released on June 9th.
The pitch-black track “Apophatic Weaponry”
MERRIMACK comment: “For this song, as on the whole album, we wanted to come back to something more rooted in the 90’s. With a less complex structure, and a sound not as modern and claustrophobic as on our latest albums, ‘Apophatic Weaponry’ still has our characteristic moody atmosphere with some crawling mid-tempos riffs. This is especially noticeable on the second half of the track. Our lyrics are dealing with the special connection between beings and their faith, even though it is constructed on a void trying to fill in another vacant space of nothingness. The divine cannot be observed, demonstrated, except by its consequences. In the end, this is the definition of faith as opposed to reason. This concept of negative theology is a mystical approach towards the divine that attempts to describe it through the impossibility of describing it. Eckhart. Jacob Böhme and most of the German mystics tried to increase their faith with such notions.”
