Italian metal giants Lacuna Coil announce that they are at the beginning of a new cycle. The band posted on their Instagram account , with the text “Reset. Restart”. The band’s fan base has been eagerly awaiting the announcement, and today Lacuna Coil released their brand new single In The Mean Time . Ash Costello, singer of the band New Years Day, is heard as a guest on the song.
“In The Mean Time is a reflection on How badly humanity has lost its direction. We live in a really sad time, full of unhappy people, loneliness, anxiety and depression. This song is like a kind of group therapy – it’s not about complaining, it’s about accepting that once you’ve been broken, rebuilding yourself is heavy and difficult. We invited New Years Day’s Ash Costello to guest on this song, and with their warm voice and charisma, brought exactly what we needed to the song,” commented the band.
Ash Costello will also be seen in the music video released for the In The Mean Time single, which can be seen below on Lacuna Coil’s YouTube channel. The video was directed by Patric Ullaeus.
Lacuna Coil’s previous release, Never Dawn, released last summer, broke the long silence. The release of the In The Mean Time single was based on the news heard earlier this month about Lacuna Coil’s North American tour starting in May, where New Years Day will be seen as a special guest. There will be tour news for the fall as well, when the band will tour Great Britain and Ireland with Blind Channel.
“It’s a great honor to tour with Lacuna Coil! This is our first time, and besides that, I also got to participate in their new song and perform in its music video. It is a privilege to work with a singer like Cristina. I might be a little biased when I say this is my favorite Lacuna Coil production. Its message resonates strongly with my world of timing,” says Ash Costello.
